It can be overwhelming to seek help and decide on a counselor/therapist. My work as a therapist includes recognizing how difficult it is to discuss your personal information and struggles. It is not easy to share your private life. Whether you are experiencing relationship conflicts, uncertainty about your life, or any of the other human conditions, it can be challenging to know where to go from here or how to make things better. In therapy, we will work together in facing those challenges so you can start to feel better.
Trauma is not just what has happened to you. It is much more than that.
A traumatic event is an incident that causes physical, emotional, spiritual, or psychological harm. A person experiencing such a distressing event may feel physically threatened, extremely frightened, humiliated, or ashamed as a result of the event.
The overall goal of trauma therapy is to treat the emotional and psychological consequences that trauma can leave behind.
Life is full of struggles, but you don't have to struggle alone.
Counseling allows individuals to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors; work through challenging or influential memories; identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change; better understand themselves and others; set personal goals; and work toward desired change. Working with a therapist can help you develop new coping skills to better manage daily challenges and ultimately live a happier life.
The quality of our life is impacted by the quality of our relationships.
Relationships are complicated and challenging, but there are ways to improve your connection and overcome the difficulties. Relationships have evolved and transformed from the traditional heteronormative male and female "couple" model to various design dynamics. There is no one way or right way to live in a relationship. It should be based on what is healthy for all the individuals involved, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Sex is a complete therapy in itself when done in the right sense.
Trauma isn't the only thing that lives in your body. Pleasure, passion, and great sex live there too. Sex can be difficult to discuss, however, sex therapy can help you to identify and challenge beliefs and behaviors that are affecting your sex life and relationships. Sex therapy is for both individuals and couples who may be experiencing sexual dysfunction, issues with intimacy, low libido, sexual trauma, and any other issues preventing you from enjoying a fulfilling sex life.
The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
